Daily Devotional
I apologize for taking the weekend off been a little busy. I know its not a good excuse but its the one I have.
Psalm 70
1 MAKE HASTE, O GOD, TO DELIVER ME; MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME, O LORD.
2 Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
3 Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.
4 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
5 But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.

I got this one from another forum I belong to and thought I would pass it along.....please read the bottom. Just made me wonder how many other people are feeling this way that we should remember in our prayers. God is Strong
| Psalm 69 1-10 1 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 3 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God. 4 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away. 5 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee. 6 Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel. 7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face. 8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children. 9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. 10 When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. I don't know about you but Here lately I have really been in a struggle with my attitude and My Faith. I guess I'm letting the world economy, gas prices, and the troubles of this world get me down. Remember me in Prayer if you will today. I tried to remind myself that when I am weak He (GOD) is strong. And to all who read this everyday I love and appreciate you. | ||||

| Psalm 68 v11-20 11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. 12 Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil. 13 Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold. 14 When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon. 15 The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan. 16 Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever. 17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. 18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them. 19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. 20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death. | ||||

Daily Devotional
Daily Light In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
When ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. The Spirit ... helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
Phil. 4:6. Ps. 16:1,2. Matt 6:7. Rom. 8:26. 1 Tim. 2:8. Eph. 6:18. Matt. 18:19.

Daily Light As the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
The fellowship of his sufferings. Rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. If children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.

Bad news Good news
From Pastor Mark:
Hey everyone,
Got bad and good news. Bad news, the rafting trip is out. They are already booked and have almost doubled their price. Good news, beach retreat weekend is in! We have secured a nice house at Myrtle Beach for September 4-7th (Thursday-Sunday). The place requires a three night minimum so we have to pay for that. However you do not have to come down until Friday. The cost is $93.00 per person regardless of 2 or 3 nights. The first 16 to pay get a bed. After that there are pullout couches (for a discounted price). If you are interested, call my wife Tracy. More details to share later.
Also, don’t forget the Jordan Lake trip on Saturday, June 28th.

Daily Light He arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
Ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. Ye who sometime were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.

Yeah!
I'm so glad the Connected page is up and running. Even though Tiffany Thomas probably won't see this page, she did the nicest thing the other day just by calling and inviting me to come watch the softball game with her. It really means alot just to get a phone call to chat from a Christian friend, especially in the midst of a crazy day at work. I hope everyone uses this blog for updates, pictures, prayer requests and praises...and mostly, to keep us connected! - Meg
